Our Technicians (& Trainer) - Introducing Jo Follows (UK)

January 27, 2020

At Botched Ink® we love to celebrate all our amazing technicians, and we'd like to introduce you to Jo Follows of JoFo Beauty, Oswestry, UK

Jo started her permanent makeup journey after around 10 years in the beauty industry. With her business she provides many different beauty treatments, microblading and combination brows, make-up and even has her own training academy for: massage, lash extension, microblading to machine conversion and of course Botched Ink®. Yes, that’s right Jo is proudly one of our Botched Ink® Trainers!

Previously working as a HD Brow Technician Jo wanted to be able to give people better brows with the aid of permanent makeup. After completing her PMU training Jo felt that she didn’t know enough to being amazing at her job so she looked for someone to help her perfect her skills and that’s when she met Tricia, who was our first Technician of the week!

Tricia introduced Jo to Lisa Henning as Lisa ran a course for microblading to machine conversion. Jo took this course with Lisa and really enjoyed it, finding her teaching style and knowledge amazing. At the time Lisa was working with another saline removal product and Jo trained with Lisa in this, when she heard about the launch of Botched Ink® Jo was very excited. She soon fell in love with the product and realised that saline tattoo removal was going to be an important part of her career from then on and so she trained in Botched Ink®.

Jo had previously been a trainer for a large retailer and had taught for 8 years in a college so it seemed like a natural progression to then become a trainer for Botched Ink®, a product she really believed in. Jo is really starting to get going with the Botched Ink® training now, providing live demo and practical days to our students to certify them as Approved Botched Ink® Technicians.

What happened during the treatment ? The practitioner and I discussed the shape of my eyebrows. My eyebrows are naturally quite full, but I wanted to add hairs to where it was sparse and bring the eyebrows in by adding more hairs to the front. She drew an outline of my brows and I asked her if they would be as thick as the outline. She said that they wouldn’t and new hairs would just go above my natural brow shape.

Growing up, art was just a way of life. Drawing and painting were always second nature to me. So it was no surprise when I chose to pursue a career in the tattoo industry. Sharing my art and creativity fed my soul. But when I discovered makeup, and more specifically “corrective makeup”, I fell in love. There was a way I could make slight, yet very precise changes to the colors or placement of makeup and it would brighten my clients’ face and take years off of their
