Before & After 1, 2, 3 or 4 Botched Ink® Treatments

Any kind of tattoo removal treatment is a process, with results depending on the age of the pigment, how much pigment there is, how deep it's been implanted and how many treatments the client returns for

We always suggest with Botched Ink® saline tattoo removal that the client mentally and financially commits to a course of 3 treatments.  That's not promising the pigment will be gone in 3 treatments, but we will know how easily the pigment is removing to discuss how to proceed, with further sessions or maybe the area is lightened enough for new pigment to be added

What is Botched Ink® ?

What is Saline Tattoo Removal ?

Botched Ink® is a gentle yet concentrated hypertonic saline solution for tattoo removal.  When it's implanted into skin the area dries out.  If the skin contains tattoo pigment this will dry out too, lifting and removing the pigment during the skins natural healing process

  • Removes colour that's lasted too long, mistakes or tattoo regrets
  • Lightens faded permanent makeup ready for microblading or hair strokes
  • Lifts pigment colour from saturated or very dark brows

Certified in another removal product, can I use Botched Ink®?

Yes, but...

This is essentially a question for your insurance company and for you to assess your own existing skills

If you have generic saline or non-laser tattoo removal insurance you should be covered, though you must still check with your insurance company as you are responsible for ensuring you follow policy guidelines.  If you have product insurance generally you would need additional Botched Ink® product training

Botched Ink® is not your average saline tattoo removal solution, and quite different from using salt and saline.  As the developer of this product and knowing the quality of the training we offer, we would always recommend you took specific product training as it is available

Course of Treatments

Any kind of tattoo removal is a process, it’s worth mentally and financially committing to a course of 3 treatments so we can assess how easily the pigment is removing from your skin

  • Most clients see improvements after 2 or 3 sessions
  • Initially the pigment may look darker before it gets lighter
  • Pigment that sits deep in the skin comes up to the surface
  • This makes removal easier in further sessions

For some the goal is complete removal, others are looking for a lightening so the area can be re-worked.  During the removal process we are assessing and responding to the pigment, how deep it sits in the skin, is the area saturated with pigment and skin stain (the russet, lilac and warm colours) from years of top ups.  The fresher the tattoo, the easier it is to remove

How Much is Botched Ink® Tattoo Removal

Botched Ink® trained technicians set their own prices, but as a guide expect to pay £80-£150 per session. A treatment appointment is 45-60 minutes with the first appointment being a little longer to include the consultation

Tattoo Removal Process

Botched Ink® is soaked into the area to be treated, with skin opened up in a light skin needling type action.  You will have had numbing cream so this really isn't an uncomfortable experience

Botched Ink® saline tattoo removal process and healing

The Healing Process

The photos below show healing during a 4 day period after a Botched Ink® tattoo removal treatment.  These are not photos of results

You can see in this particular tattoo the grey pigment is quite deep in the skin, there is also some other faded russet pigment.  For this client the deeper pigment looked darker during the initial removal sessions as pigment lifted up and out of the skin.  The closer pigment is to the surface, the quicker it will remove.  The client gets to at least enjoy normal coloured brows for a few days during the healing process, a bonus of her technician using Botched Ink®

Botched Ink® saline tattoo removal process and healing

Benefits of using Botched Ink® for tattoo removal

Gentle during treatment:  Botched Ink® pH closely resembles healthy skin, meaning only a mild sting which disappears very quickly.  The formula includes Aloe Vera which really helps the solution soak into the skin, without needing to over traumatise you or your skin

Quickly dries skin, forming a thin scab:  Skin treated with Botched Ink® starts to dry out within the first few hours.  For you this means minimal inflammation and associated risk of scarring, plus minimal risk of infection

Tattoos can look better during healing:  Many clients worry what they’ll look like during healing, the answer when using Botched Ink® is the treated area usually looks better.  Unwanted grey or orange brows will look shades of brown during the healing process, so you’re likely to get complimented on your new eyebrows for a few days !

After 48 hours clients can shower and use aftercare:  When treated skin is fully dried you can begin using the prescribed aftercare serum, this makes scabbing and healing more pleasant

Purified Water (aqua)

Purified water has been purified to remove any chemicals or contaminants, making Botched Ink® suitable and safe to use

Dead Sea Salt (sodium chloride)

Sodium Chloride (salt) is used in saline tattoo removal for its ability to dry out the skin.  Salt draws water out of cells via the process of osmosis.  Essentially, water moves across a cell membrane to try to equalize the salinity or concentration of salt on both sides of the membrane. If we add enough salt, too much water will be removed from a cell for it to remain alive, it will have dried out

Botched Ink® uses Dead Sea Salt, chosen for its high mineral content which benefit the skin

The Dead Sea is the most saline body of water in the world with far greater concentrations of minerals than any ocean, a concentration of 33% minerals compared to only 3% other seas

  • Bromide- heals and relieves disorders, and has relaxing effect as an anti-inflammatory agent, can be used as a natural antibiotic.
  • Magnesium- accelerates metabolism of cells, works as an anti-allergic agent
  • Calcium- soothes and relieves skin cells, is necessary in strengthening cell membranes and cleansing pores
  • Potassium - Improves oxidation, necessary to maintain water balance for cell metabolism to take place, assists cells to absorb nourishment and expel waste products
  • Sodium Chloride - Nourishes and hydrates skin cells and removes toxic waste, improving its permeability
  • Zinc - facilitates cell renewal and stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis (renews skin). A great antioxidant this mineral is a free radical’s scavenger. Anti-inflammatory properties

Glycerin (glycerin)

Glycerin is a naturally occurring alcohol compound of animal or vegetable origin.  Glycerin is often used in beauty products because it's easily absorbed into the skin, this means the active ingredients in Botched Ink® can penetrate deeply with ease.  Botched Ink® uses pure vegetable oil derived glycerin, sourced from Rapeseed Oil

Aloe Vera Powder 200:1 (aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder)

Aloe Vera is well-known for its trans-dermal properties, reaching deeper body tissues, making the active ingredients in Botched Ink® easily absorbed.  The combination of more than 200 active ingredients makes Aloe Vera unique, with anti-itching, cooling, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-oxidant and moisturizing properties.  Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder is obtained from the dried leaf juice.  A 0.1% concentration of Aloe Vera powder 200: 1 equates to about 20% Aloe Vera 1:1 gel.  Botched Ink® uses Aloe Vera for its trans-dermal and healing properties

Neopres COS (Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorophensin)

Neopres COS is a broad-spectrum preservative system which is well accepted in a wide range of skin care products.  Approved in Europe and America with a well-documented safety profile.  Non-paraben, low odour, pH stable and active on bacteria, yeast and moulds.  Botched Ink® uses Neopres COS as a preservative

Corn Starch (Zea Mays)

A starch obtained from corn.  Corn Starch is great natural remedy to stop bleeding since it aids and speeds up the clotting process. Corn Starch has drying properties which makes it great for this.   Corn Starch is also used as a thickening agent in skincare products.  Botched Ink® uses Corn Starch to stop the bleeding after treatment and absorb any fluids

Aluminium Sulphate (Aluminium Sulphate)

Aluminium Sulphate is an inorganic compound which has many uses.  For cosmetic and personal care products Aluminium Sulphate is used as a deodorant, an astringent used to contract or shrink tissue and dry up secretions, or as a styptic for superficial wounds.  A styptic is a substance capable of stopping bleeding when applied to a wound.  Aluminium Sulphate causes vascular constriction, allowing the formation of a blood clot.  Botched Ink® uses Aluminium Sulphate to stop the bleeding after treatment

Xanthan Gum (Xanthan Gum)

Xanthan gum is a polysaccharide (starch) which has many uses, including as a common food additive. It is an effective thickening agent and stabilizer to prevent ingredients from separating.  It can be produced from simple sugars using a fermentation process.  Botched Ink® uses Xanthan Gum to thicken and prevent the ingredients from separating

Sodium Hydroxide (Sodium Hydroxide)

Sodium Hydroxide is a highly alkaline and reactive ingredient, often used as a pH Adjuster to neutralise ingredients. The most common use for Sodium Hydroxide in personal care products is its use in the production of handmade soap.  Botched Ink® uses Sodium Hydroxide to adjust the pH making the solution kinder to the skin
