The Botched Ink® Formula

PIGMENT REMOVAL SHOULD NEVER COME AT THE EXPENSE OF SKIN HEALTH

Different removal solutions interact with skin in different ways. Some can cause chemical tissue injury, necrosis and inflammation, which may contribute to pigment removal but also increase the risk of prolonged healing and skin damage.

Botched Ink® was developed with a different priority: effective pigment removal while preserving the condition of the surrounding skin.

Because the condition of the skin after removal matters just as much as how much pigment you've removed

Not All Removal Solutions Work the Same Way

Different types of removal solution interact with the skin in very different ways. Understanding these differences helps you choose the safest and most effective approach for your clients

Skin Preservation vs. Tissue Damage

Botched Ink® works with the skin’s natural, organized way of removing damaged or old cells, without causing inflammation. This mimics apoptosis – controlled cell turnover – for gentle, effective pigment removal.

Other removal solutions can cause uncontrolled cell death (necrosis), triggering inflammation and unnecessary tissue damage.

Acidic Removal Solutions

Acidic solutions, such as glycolic or TCA, cause coagulative necrosis. They break down the “mortar” that holds skin cells together, similar to a skin peel.

This can lead to tissue damage, irritation, inflammation and a longer healing process, increasing the risk of complications such as scarring or texture changes.

Alkaline & Hybrid Solutions

Alkaline powders, such as calcium or magnesium oxide, cause liquefactive necrosis. They affect both the cells and the surrounding structures, creating a soft, wet breakdown of tissue.

Hybrid solutions combine different chemical actions, which can make the skin’s response more complex and unpredictable, with a higher risk of prolonged healing.

Not All Saline Solutions Are the Same

Typical saline or salt and saline solutions can leave the skin wet, soft and weeping. It may take several days to dry out, especially in hot and humid conditions, risking a soggy scab and more inflammation.

Botched Ink® contains styptic ingredients that help stop bleeding and fluid secretion during treatment, so the skin is already drying before the client leaves

THE BOTCHED INK® FORMULA DIFFERENCE

More than just salt

A specialist formula developed to preserve skin while removing unwanted pigment.

Carefully Selected Ingredients

Botched Ink® combines mineral-rich Dead Sea salt, concentrated aloe vera and other carefully selected ingredients in a skin-friendly pH 5.5 formula.

Our specialist styptic system helps control bleeding and fluid secretion during treatment, supporting rapid drying and the formation of a thin, dry scab.

It's not simply what's in the formula, but how the ingredients work together that makes Botched Ink® different.

No More Soggy Bottoms!

With many traditional saline removal methods, the treated skin can remain wet or weeping before eventually drying and scabbing over.

Botched Ink® takes a different approach. Its styptic ingredients help stop bleeding and fluid secretion during treatment, so the skin is already drying before the client leaves.

This helps prevent the dreaded soggy bottom — a scab that appears dry on top but remains wet underneath, increasing the risk of premature scab loss and disrupted healing.

The aim is a thin, dry scab that holds onto lifted pigment as the skin heals naturally.

Maximum Potency — Single-Use Sachets

Botched Ink® is supplied in 10 × 2 ml individually sealed sachets, rather than a multi-use bottle.

This helps protect the unused product from repeated exposure during treatments, while providing a fresh, hygienic sachet for each client.

Each batch is independently tested to support our two-year shelf life, reflecting our commitment to product quality and consistency.

A carefully developed formula, professional packaging and an established method — all working together to prioritise skin preservation and treatment results.
